I’m in my forties…

Hi, I’m Ivy. I’m in my forties and recently moved to Adelaide under difficult circumstances.

I’m catching up with people that I used to know from the country who got out of town many years ago.

It’s weird seeing people who you used to party with over twenty years ago.

A lot of health problems for many of us at this stage in our lives.

My mate spoke to me recently of a mutual friend who had to have surgery to correct a bulging blood vessel near his right temple.

He said they did it once, they did it again and then he had to be operated on a third time for the doctor to finally sort it out.

I said “Why didn’t they get it right the first time? Not like it’s brain surgery.”

My girlfriends are excited about a night out next weekend, there’s talk of shots.

My response to that was “It’s got to be the right time of night, the right place and the correct phase of the moon with no planets in retrograde for shots these days!”

In my younger days there didn’t seem to be any shot restrictions.

If there was a lull in the conversation we didn’t pull out our phones, I would scream SHOTS! And we’d all head to the bar.

I love the random scream to the room

Did you ever do that thing where if someone dropped a glass or broke something the whole room would scream TAXI!

Last week this happened and I yelled out UBER!

It was just me and It’s not yet catching on just yet.
